We use treated pine screws that are galvanized for long life, wear and durability. Thatch Used: We use premuim grade thatch on all our gazebos and huts It is durable, has a long life span, and offers natural aesthetic beauty. The totally unique natural thatch is environmentally friendly and will offer years of beauty and service. Our thatch is carefully selected grass grown naturally in the correct locations. Roof PitchThe pitch of the roof is a big factor in determining the longevity of the roof. Usually, a steeper roof (higher pitch) thatch roof will last longer due to its better drainage capabilities. For this reason, we use a roof pitch of 35-40 degrees (minimum) therefore extending the life of the thatch. This also dramatically reduces damage done by strong winds. | Bali Hut Frequently Asked QuestionsHow long will the Balinese Thatch Roof/ Bali Hut last?A: With very little maintenance, a thatch roof owner can have a roof last for 15 years and more.
